USMAO's Pledge to Our Schools
The No-Poaching Pledge
Every school that trusts USMAO opens its doors, its mats, and its students to us. We take that trust seriously. USMAO exists to deepen your art, not to take from it. So we make this pledge to every member school, host school, and instructor we work with:
We will never recruit your students.
No USMAO officer, board member, or seminar instructor will solicit, invite, or encourage a student from a member school to leave that school or train elsewhere. Ever.
We will send students home.
If a student asks to train at another instructor's school, we will direct them back to their own instructor first. We will not accept a student who leaves on bad terms, or who has not spoken with their home instructor.
Our seminars are not advertisements.
USMAO sessions are for education only. Instructors will not promote their own schools, hand out school materials, or collect student contact information at USMAO events.
Your students' information stays private.
Names, contact details, and school rosters shared with USMAO are used only to run USMAO activities and are never shared with other schools.
We teach to complement, never to correct.
When we share another system's approach, we honor your student's core system and your authority as their teacher. We never undermine your instruction, your curriculum, or your rank.
We hold each other accountable.
Any member school may raise a concern about a violation of this pledge with the USMAO board, and it will be addressed promptly and in confidence.
USMAO is not a style, a rank, or a franchise. We are a community of martial artists built on integrity and trust. This pledge is how we keep it.
